Volkswagen is ready to unveil the newest model of their electric ID. family to the world, with some exciting surprises in store for their grand reveal in Las Vegas. The ID.7 will be presented on a grand stage at CES 2023, the meeting place for the industry and leading tech trade show for digital mobility. For more than five decades, the show has served as a global platform for business to share innovative technology, and therefor, is the perfect place to unveil the first all-electric drive matrix and our fleet's newest member.

The ID.7 builds on the success of our previous electric models, with an impressive range of over 600km on a single charge. As the sixth model in the ID family, it sets the bar higher for the future of electric mobility as we continue to strive toward a more accessible, affordable and sustainable method of transportation.

"With the new ID.7, we are rounding off the top end of our electric model range," explained Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, "The sedan will offer top-class technology and quality. The ID.7 is one of ten new electric models that we are planning to launch by 2026. Our goal? To offer suitable products for our customers in every segment."

In terms of style, the ID.7 follows the design language of the fully electric ID. model family, with an aerodynamic front section and roof, which both help to reduce energy consumption and increase the range. Air intakes located at the front of the vehicle guide the air flowing through them down the sides of the vehicle to the rear in a targeted way, resulting in an air curtain in the front bumper, which calms the air flow at the sides of the vehicle.

For the highly-anticipated premiere, the ID.7's will exhibit a smart camouflage exterior and interactive QR codes across the body. This unique technology, with a total of 40 paint layers, is able to create light effects on all areas of the vehicle. QR codes carefully placed on the exterior will allow 22 areas to be activated individually, serving as an interface between the physical and digital words. This interactive feature symbolizes the next step in the digitalization of the future flagship model of the ID family.

New and inventive features continue into the ID.7's interior, which has been carefully engineered with short overhands and a long wheelbase to keep the luxury sedan spacious and inviting. A new display concept (HMI) with an augmented reality head-up display and a central 38-centimeter (15") screen is fully customizable to the user, making each individuals experience truly one-of-a-kind. A newly developed air conditioning concept offers a range of functions and creates the ideal interior climate unlike any vehicle before. For example, the ID.7 can detect when the driver is approaching based on their key, and will already start to cool the interior on hot summer days or heat the interior on cold days before they enter. Special requests can be activated using voice commands and launching specific programs to meet the driver's needs and adjust the cabin accordingly. The intelligent system also responds to different temperature zones, such as sun shining brightly on one side of the vehicle, and regulates the air conditioning in the vehicle differently for the respective areas.

The ID.7 is set to be revealed at CES this year, with a launch in China and Europe in 2023. The newest addition to Volkswagen's fully electric family will then be launched in North America shortly after in 2024.
